Law & Order, Girl Dishonored

Write a small paragraph for both questions:

1. Who (it can be one or multiple people) is ultimately to blame for Lindsay's death and why?

2. How can colleges/universities change this culture of under reporting?

The leader of the sorority and people involved in the group also known as the nipple girls. They dared her to do it even though it was Lindsay's choice. If they didn't tell her to do that, she would have not died. Due to that a lead up of events happened to her and it changed her life completely from how it was.

They should take things to court more often. They don't have to speak about the victims specifically or say there name. They just have to let it known and get people to notice it and take act. If more people know about it the more risks and threats can be eliminated. They should also bring media in, so people can at least know about it.

  2. I think the sorority leader is the blame for Lindsay's death. Also she caused Lindsay to get raped. Lindsay probably would not have died if the Leader didn't make her do what she did. So from seeing that I think that Colleges should take things to the court. From not saying things it will just elevate the problem and make it more worse than it already is.

Lindsay's death is on both Tau Omegas and the sorority group Nipple girls. Lindsay wanted to join in Nipple girls sorority group but before she was initiated she had to go get a picture of a "package." By doing so she had gotten raped in trying to get the photo. With all the peer pressure going around she couldn't take it anymore, so by doing so she took her own life to shut it out. Ultimately it was multiple people for Lindsay's death.

First of all they need to beef up security so they can get to them quicker and report things quicker. Also in the whole episode they did not have one camera around the campus. So basically what I am saying is that they need more visual and security. The faster they can report it the faster that you can help you with the situation. That's a way you can stop under reporting problems

I feel that the three people to blame for her death would be her and the sorority that was involved (Nipple girls) and the Travis guy. To begin the sorority pressured her to take a pictures of the guys private area resulting in her rape. They made her do it because she was pledging for the sorority and thats what they do. Then the blame would go to Lindsay because she was dumb enough to actually do it plus why would she get super drunk at a party like that knowing that anything bad can happen. Plus the guy Travis and his friends raped her and she felt really bad and used that drove her crazy that triggered her to become insane and end it buy jumping of the building.

I feel like they should get deans that are more experienced in this type of field. Or have more organizations that help prevent this. They should let the students have orientations and more information about situations like this or how to get out of this situation. They should always have people loyal to keeping the system clean and not corrupt like the dean and security at the school. Basically there security should be strict and have a curfew.

    1) The death of Lindsay is blamed to the leader of the sorority group. She gave Lindsay the pledge as way to join. If she hadn't have gave it to her in the first place, Lindsay wouldn't have gone through Travis & the 2 guys. The girl is confused by not pressing charges & believing that nothing happened. At the end, Lindsay committed suicide and the girls of the sorority showed their support but it didn't changing anything.

    2) Colleges/universities can change the culture of under reporting by taking things to the next level. I'm talking about going publicly in court or on the news. Speaking up about who's to blame & what so in so did. Making efforts to expose the ones who victimize & question them to the fullest. Also not letting fear or threats stop one's voice and make them feel safe again is the top priority when being at a college/university.

    1. I believe that Lindsay's death is mostly to blame on the Sorority group but tau omega also had a part in her death. The sorority group (nipple girls) are the ones that send her off to the party in the first place. Without them, nothing would have happened. Tau Omega then took it from there to rape her aggressively. On the other hand, Lindsay could of avoided both of them if she wasn't so desperate to pledge to the sorority group. Both tau omega and the sorority group girls' actions built on each other to destroy Lindsay.

    2. Colleges and universities can be involved in the law more often. They need to report rape or any big problem to the police and court. They should not take it upon themselves to solve the problem. Also, they should keep clear track of any accusations so they can be used to bring the victims justice. Colleges should not always blame the victims and just put it on drugs and alcohol. They should always be public about the news and not try to hide the problem.

1.Honestly, I feel like Allison and the other sorority leader were the ultimate blame for Linday's death. Allison has been a victim of rape by pretty much the same group of guys, so I feel like she shouldn't have even been encouraging Lindsay to do that pledge challenge at all. Then both of the leaders blame Lindsay for her own rape. Basically saying that she wanted it, she's just too embarrassed to say anything. Aren't sorority sister supposed to be like family? So I'm not understanding why they tried to down her like that. Lindsay probably wouldn't have killed herself if she knew that she had real friends or "sorority sisters" on her side helping her get through her situation.

    2. I think colleges and universities should have a support group for people who's been victims of rape. They can help each other get justice and make sure that these cases aren't just swept under the rug.

I think both sororities is to blame. Tau Omega is ultimately the ones who committed the assault but it was the girls who still kind of help with it. I under stand you really cant isolate your self from a party all your collage years but you can say no and always be aware of what's happening around you at parties, on the streets, even in your home.

Collages and universities can just be more involved like they are suppose to be. Yes, their not in high school anymore but safety is still a necessity.

The school is mainly the one to blame. You have all these people coming forward about rape and a boy comes up twice for rape accusation and they do nothing to help Lindsay. They didn't want to help her, none the less did they ever try. Pratically it was everyone's fault involved- the guys that raped her, the sorority because they knew, and the dean because she didn't report the problem.

Renee Clark was the one sent to Mental Hospital just because she had a "bad night". She was depressed and trying to forget about what happened. So a way they can change the reporting is.. TO ACTUALLY REPORT THEM INSTEAD OF HIDING THEM. I get people don't want to be called names but its better to have college students report to the police or someone they know and trust that's going to help them.

    A) Personally, I think there are multiple to blame on this case. However, at the utmost, Tau Omega and the Nipple girls hold the most blame. If it wasn't for Tau Omega raping multiple girls from the Nipple Girls, they wouldn't make such idiotic reasons to join the sorority. Risking the new recruits their safety and life.

    B) Colleges should be thinking more of the students then of themselves. They put the risk of the students safety and the school getting taken down. All reports/claims need to be taken with top priority. The ways of resolve should be both good for the students and the school.

    1. I think there are 2 people to blame for her death. The sorority group "nipple girls" and Travis. The reason she got into the situation is because the sorority group made her get a picture of Travis. While she was going to get it she got caught up and got raped by 3 boys including Travis.

    2. Universities need to start reporting every case. If you get raped, the rapist should face the consequences. It wasn't your fault and if you didn't want it then colleges should report it. Reporting every case might take a long time to find the answer but it is worth it.

  13. 1.I feel like the three boys blame for her death. the tree boys rape different girls. they should kill her pretty much.
2.I feel like college campus should tries to commit suicide as a result of the rape. Their attempts to piece together the events of the crime are thwarted by drunks students and conflicting accounts. they should have support group for people who been victims of rape.

I believe that Travis and the other guys are to be blamed for Lindsay's death. They raped her. That made her depressed, and on top of that, the school didn't help either in the case, so you could blame the school, too.

Colleges/universities could change the culture of under reporting by not hiding evidence or hiding cases, and by taking immediate action by reporting and getting the rapists in trouble. I think that in this case, the school hid the incident because they tried to make themselves look good in comparison to other schools. I think that lives matter more than the school's reputation.

I think the Dean of students should get in trouble for the death . She let the students get out of control , they didn't have and direct rules . I also think that the fraternity boys played a really big part in the death also harassing not only the female students but collage students in general .

they can at lease improve the way they treat the students , if they come to you with a problem listen to everything , they should also have deans that are more caring and if not fire them . everyone's feelings and life matter .

I blame the frat boys. If they didn't rape Lindsay then she wouldn't have got feeling so bad. Them doing that made her kill herself. People not believing her and the frat boys laughing at it got her depressed.

Colleges should have someone to make sure people report any problems and if they don't they can get in trouble if they don't. Security should check any reports that have been sent and try to help. Checking like once for anything.

Travis and his boys are the ones to blame for Lindsay's death. Even though Lindsay put herself in that situation by doing the dare from the sorority she wanted to join, Travis should've just left it at that. They went and caused so much more trouble when all she wanted was a picture so she can become a nipple girl. What Travis and his boys did to her really affected Lindsay and it was traumatizing, so she saw suicide as the only solution.

Colleges/universities should make sure that their students are comfortable enough to come forward with a story rather than be afraid. They can do that by offering support groups. They should also be more aware of what's happening on their campuses and parties. More supervision could be a solution to that because it's showing these students that they are serious and will take action if needed to. Giving the students a connection to someone who has authority so they'd talk to them could be helpful as well.

I agree with you completely. Lindsay her self is not to blame. I also believe that it was the nipple girls fault as well. They knew the reputation of the frat and still put her in such a provoking situation.

      Delete
  18. I feel like both sororities are to blame. Tau Omega may have been responsible for the rape itself but the girl sorority had sent her in there to begin with. The reason why I feel that they are partially responsible is because they knew what had happened to Renee and still had Lindsay go into the room alone to complete a sexual type of pledge.

Collages can be more concerned like I believe they should be. They should be worried about both the education and safety of their students. They should also believe in what the student says as in the case of rape, because the attacker won't admit that they had done something of that nature.

A lot of people are to blame for Lindsay'S death, people who raped her, security campuses, Dean, and some other student's that was looking her feeling bad and others said she's laying all of that was making her feeling worse and worse specially that at that time there was no avoidance so she wasn't have that much hope.
Universities should help students report them in better ways, they can send it in app that if the Dean didn't do anything about it reports to the people above the den and it keep happen to the higher and higher until it solve.

I believe the college is the main one to be blamed for Lindsay's death because they didn't report her rape nor did they offer her any support. On the other hand, they defended the rapist by keeping them out of trouble for being "honor students and outstanding athletes." Instead of underreporting rape cases and making the victims feel responsible over their own rape, colleges should encourage these victims to come forward and actually report the cases and not try to keep them hidden. They should shut down fraternities and sororities with such history because jokes such as "the raping factory" should be more then enough to get the school involved with such clubs.

I feel that mostly the blame is the boys , but the fact that she sent the nude the next day makes it think to them that it was okay if it wasn't she shouldn't have sent a nude or responded back to their text message .

I think colleges and universities should come up with a program that helps rap victims , because people who have been raped don't like talking about it so if they make a program to show that other people are speaking up they'll speak up.

    2. I think each person should have somebody personal to talk with and be comfortable with so they can talk out their problems with.

I think that Travis and the other two boys are the ones to blame. Lindsey was dared to get a picture of Travis in order to get in the sorority. Even though it was her choice to go and attend the party, it is still wrong that Travis raped her while she said no. He lied and said that she wanted it which made her bad leading her to commit suicide.

Colleges/universities should make the environment feel more safe and comfortable. There should be more people that are trustful to talk to in colleges. More higher security. And there shouldn't be sororities that make people do stuff like that to get in.

I think that Travis, his friends, and the college are the blame. Travis and his friends raped her, and then tired to make it seem like Limdsey was lying about the rape. It's also the college's fault because they didn't take the situation as serious as they should've.

Colleges/universities should make the students feel safe, comfortable, and outspoken when something wrong happens to them. In all levels of the college, from security to the dean, help these students feel welcomed and supported.

In my opinion Travis, His friends, and he school were the ones to blame. Lindsay died because of them and what they did to her. She had hope that Travis liked her, but at the end he killed her like her mom said, " they killed my baby." Lindsay was also dumb enough to even think about being a sorority. What Travis, his group, and the school did was heartbreaking for Lindsay.
colleges/universities should change this culture of under reporting by thinking more of the students rather than themselves, Not everyone can take care of themselves and everyone of us needs some sort of security along the way. Colleges should make the environment more safer for students.

Travis and his two friends are definitely the ones to blame for Lindsey's death. They are the whole reason why she jumped. They raped her, Changed her into someone else. People were calling her a liar and a slut. Saying that she wanted it. She got depressed and ended it all.

I feel that students should feel safe at school. The school definitely needs like support groups where girls can talk about rape. There needs to be programs on what to do after you get rape or what to expect. Programs were they teach you about rape whistle and etc.

  30. I think it was Travis's and Joe's fault. Travis was the leader and he was persuading them saying it was cool to do it. Even though Joe wasn't making the rules he should have told someone about what he did. Then they made a video slut shaming her saying that she wanted it. Later on Lindsey committed suicide.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I think that the guys who raped her, the school, and the one guy that didn't tell anyone until the end is to blame. The school shouldn't have brushed it off their shoulders, and he should've showed the detectives the video sooner.

The school could take more action towards incidents like this. No matter how much they trust and want to believe their students you have to look into things like this. Especially when the end result is often suicide.

I blame Travis, The other two boys, The dean of the school, and the Campus security. I blame every single one of them because no one really tried to help her in my opinion. What she had to do in the first was stupid. I just believe that no one really tried to help her which caused her to do what she did.

Colleges/universities can change under reporting by not hiding information like that. Also put more effort into helping the girls that have these incidents rather than blame it on the girl. Also have campus security to do a better job at there job.

  33. The counselor and the campus security were the ones to blame for Lindsay's death. The counselor hid reports from every rape accusation. The Campus security really didn't help at all with the girls getting raped.

Lindsay had said no to them, she didn't want it but they wouldn't listen. they later slut shamed her and which made her feel even worse about what happened. So I think the 3 boys who raped her are to blame for her death.

Colleges and Universities should always report everything they get. They should be more aware about what is happening on campus. They should know what is happening at parties and what they're doing at these parties because not only were they raping girls and ruining their life but they were doing drugs as well and the leaders of the University or College should know about these things and be able to stop it. I think they should be more aware on what is happening to the students.

The dean, campus security, the frat, the counselor, and her sorority are to blame for her death. They all added fuel to the fire by making fun of her, making her believe the attack was her fault, and that there wasn't an attack at all. She needed help and even though the detectives and her mother tried it just wasn't enough. Colleges could report every incident they get even if the story doesn't add up. You never know in these classes what really happened so there needs to be authorities involved and help for the people who were "raped". They need to get to the bottom of these situations and shouldn't tolerate this type of behavior.

I think that Tau Omega and Lindsay's sorority are the ultimate reason for Lindsay's death. I think Tau Omega more than the sorority, because they raped her. They actually caused all her pain and misery that made her want to commit suicide and go through with the plan. Where on the other hand her sorority only set her up to be raped.

I think that colleges can change under reporting by setting up report groups to help women come out with their experiences. They could also have counselors set up around campus, and better security to help and understand the women. They could also have stricter rules on parties. They could also have seminars to talk to the survivors.

I believe Travis is ultimately the one to blame for Lindsay's death. He was the ring leader for the frat, so basically anything that he says or does they'll follow. If Travis would've just kept his pants zipped, and his mouth closed and followed Lindsay's orders when she asked him to stop all of this would've been resolved. So all in all I believe Travis is the one to blame.

Other colleges/Universities can change the culture of under reporting by banning it completely. When a student is away from home they should still be able to feel safe in knowing that whichever college/university they attend they will be safe. If a student has a serious incident that has happened to them they should be a little at ease with knowing that their problem was reported, and knowing that a reolution is soon to come.

Ultimately the blame for Lindsay's death was both sororities, Tau Omega and The Nipple Girls. If she didn't have to get a picture of Travis's private part for her pledge to join the sorority then she wouldn't have gotten gang raped.

Colleges/universities can change the culture of under reporting by actually reporting the situation and calling witnesses to the office, if there was any. Students are suppose to be able to feel safe away from home. That cant happen unless the staff is doing their job.

It all started with the girls though and the dare they made her do in order to pledge. It's not as simple as to who to blame but what they did to her despite what she went through.

Colleges need to provide a much safer environment because students like these feel lonely. The staff needs to establish a bond with students and make sure they can talk to someone. I believe that colleges don't really focus in a problem like these because they are to blind to see it.

The sorority and Travis are who to blame for Lindsey's death because they were the ones who sent her to do a dumb dare with Travis and Travis was the one into forcing her to do something she didn't want to do and I feel like because Lindsey wanted to fit in so bad and wanted to join the group she was down for whatever but then Travis raped her and of course that haunts a girl for the rest of her life causing her to commit suicide because she can not take it anymore.

Colleges/Universities can change the culture of under reporting by stepping up to the situation and putting a stop to it by getting witnesses so the case can be stronger and be heard. By listening to there side of their stories and gathering up information so they can stop those who are causing these situations and lock them up because no one deserves to go to any college/university and feel like they can be the next victim to get raped, they just need to be more involved with the situations and find a way to prevent from any situation to get any worse then what it is and cause someone to commit suicide.

I could name a bunch but the main people was the leader of the sorority and the three people that raped her. The leader dared her to sleep with one of the boys. He took advantage of her when they was alone along with his friends. It took a massive affect on her and the school didn't do anything about it, she ultimately killed herself.

It's absurd that the college/university didn't have a strong staff. If they had a stronger and more trustworthy staff, yes it's a possibility that no one would've gotten raped in the first place. They also need to have security at the parties to keep everyone safe.

    1. The fault goes to the sorority girl who dared her to take the picture, and the Dean because she rubbed the cases off and didn't help Lindsay when she needed it.

ultimately Travis and his little buddies were the blame of Lindsay's death. she will be missed by all her family members. especially her mom. I feel like those boys were ignorant and wrong and have gotten away with way too much in thee past 4 years they've been there. She jumped off a roof and killed herself and she didn't deserve that all she wanted was to be accepted and have a college education.

The way colleges and universities can change this problem is be more aware of problems today. Limit frat parties and pay attention more to the safety of women in college culture and society. It is very important that the dean, campus security, and counselors acquire and acknowledge the information that young females of college life are saying and giving to them. Any situation an happen at any time and it is important that they know what's going on so consequences can be made.

  55. 1. Travis and the school are the ones I think should be blamed for Lindsay' death. She was raped by three guys. Before all this happening, before her joining Tompkins Square, she was home-schooled. She wasn't ready for all the chaos and parties and boys. So her being raped caused her to take her life because she must of been going through a lot of pain and also afraid. Even her mom said she knew she was not ready for all of it.

    2. College/Universities should provide students with a safer environment because not having security can cause to people being raped and many other things. Teachers should also tell students that they are there when needed, when going trough something or if they are just alone. Its always important for students to feel safe and not alone.

many guys had life more bad than her and they continued and became a good guys at the end she did that with all her mind and that`s was so stupid the guys raped her
    they didn`t kill her

The leader of the sorority and people involved in the group also known as the nipple girls. They dared her to do it even though it was Lindsay's choice. If they didn't tell her to do that, she would have not died. Due to that a lead up of events happened to her and it changed her life completely from how it was.

The college or the university take it more to the court. And the college have weak staff and they don't want to stipe up and help the student.

    2. In order to change they need to be more aware and pay more attention to the rapes going on in the world also they can change the culture by being more involved in rape type of activities because it will help the culture and make people not do such things to others also the people in the campus should try to get involved in these types of situations as soon as possible so it can be fixed.

  59. the people who can be to blame for Lindsey's death are the people in tau omega and the college. tau omega is to blame because they raped her and laughed at her. and they lied about raping her they also wouldn't cooperate when the agents were trying to help the situation. the school was to blame because they hid reports and they didn't really care about the raping tit wasn't a big deal to them.

the colleges can change things by taking action on every problem that was reported. they can also change this by banning the parties that the students have to prevent any raping actions. they can also change by making sure that the campus security reports everything and having more security.

    ReplyDelete
  60. 1 -The death of Lindsay is the leader of the sorority group fault. The sorority girls are the ones who sent her off to the party. If it wasn't for them none of this would have ever happened.

2- they should get deans that are more experienced in this type of field. Or have more organizations that help prevent this.

  61. 1. The people responsible for Lindsay's death is her sorority for making her go to the party and getting a picture of Travis and slut shaming her when she was at he lowest and the campus security for trying to hide the whole incident from the detectives, but most importantly its the boys involved who were to blame the most for also slut shaming her and for raping her.
    2. Colleges can listen to their students when they say they've been abused instead of ignoring the complains. They should have clubs and support groups so the girls won't be so scared to tell their story. As we learned from Lindsay, its important to believe your students because you never know how they will take and if her college actually listened, maybe Lindsay would be alive. In order to make these campuses safe, we have to monitor these parties and trust the victims of these crimes.

    1. Lindsay's colleagues and the college staff are to blame because on top of not taking any sort of legal action, she was shamed and taunted for what happened to her.

2.Schools can help combat the trend of under reporting by offering protection to the victims and placing cameras and more security around their campuses.

    ReplyDelete
  63. 1. The sorority boys that raped her are very at fault, what they did can make someone very depressed. Lindsey was a victim of a very hateful crime, but ultimately she took her own life , it would've been better for her to just stay alive and see what happened to her rapist's and how they have to spend the rest of their life in jail.
    2. They can change the culture by enforcing more laws in the school, being more aware of the environment of their students. The counselors should help and take care of the students. And have more talks about those things and how to report them.

1.) In my Opinion , the ones to blame for Lindsay's death are the sorority group ( Nipple Girls ) for making her go to the party to take the picture of Travis in order to be accepted into the group. If they would have never dared her than nothing would have happened . They are not the only ones to blame though Tau Omega played a big role in actually committing the assault leading to Lindsay jumping off the roof and taking her life.

2.) Colleges and Universities can change this culture of under reporting by being more involved with the students life because females aren't the only ones who are raped. They can offer support groups like Renee Clark suggested to start where students feel comfortable enough to come forward and tell their stories. Also to supervise more the dorms because that is where most of the action takes place.

I think it's the polices fault for Lindsay's death because they did not do enough to help her. She kept on asking and giving them information, but they didn't help her in time. Since they didn't help her in time she took her own life which was sad.

Colleges should have more cameras to look out for people and they should have buses so people can be safe at night. They should also have security buttons on campus just in case somebody is in danger. There should be officers outside observing.

    2. A way colleges can decrease there amounts of rape in there school campus is to have more supervision about what goes on on school grounds. 1.I believe it was a lot of people responsible for her death. The first one is the schools fault. They where wrong and how they dealt with the rape cases , The campus security for one didn't believe her and told her take a shower. The school counselor to forget about it and was convincing her that it wasn't rape. And at the end made her forget about it. And last but not least the three boys are the biggest blame they where the ones that made lindsasy feel very uncomfterble

    2. I believe They should have a college campus support group for rape victims. a better way to go about solving these types of things.

The college, the dean, the counselor, Barth, her sorority sisters, Travis, and his friends are responsible for Lindsay's death. Travis and his friends raped her, exposed her, and made her feel like it was her fault. Sorority sisters are supposed to be like family they are supposed to stick by your side. They didn't even do that they shunned her. Then the counselor, Barth, and the dean wasn't any help. They didn't take her or the situation in consideration.

Colleges should reassure that everyone is safe and that they always have someone to talk to. The campus security and counselor should always be there when any student needs help, support, or advice. The college should make sure their staff is qualified with experience (or at least some knowledge) for any situation.

The people she need to blame is the college, the counselor, Travis and his gang mainly for doing it and lots of others including the Dean ,and lastly if. Was her I would be blaming the sorority sister for making the dare .The reason why they are to all blame is because she got raped by Travis and two other guys and when she said no they never stopped. And the college and the Dean is to blame because they did nothing to helped but just wait until the FBI found out.

I honestly believe that it was the three guys. Because she started acting weird after the night they raped her. She kept saying she was fine. And she wouldn't talk to people bout it. Then all of a sudden she jumps off the roof.

It can change by people stepping up. Or by people going and telling people instead of being scared. It can also change by having more strict rules. Or by having more campus police. Or by them not hiding how they feel bout it.

The three boys who's names were mentioned more of accusations for raping girls in the campus which names I don't remember. That result of Lindsay's death by suicide was just a matter of time for her because she was too affected with the way the school handled the accusations and tried to hide the crimes.

In my belief they should immediately start an investigation even if the student was drunk, don't ever turn a blind eye to these type of problems or they will just keep growing until it gets out of control.

    1) Lindsey's death is to be blamed on both the guys who raped her, as well as the school for not trying to solve the cases or even help her. The guys who raped her were making it worse by telling people and continuing to say things about her. The school never tried to look into the case and let the girls be helpless, depressed, and suicidal.
    2) The underreporting could be solved by letting people know that the school is there for them, and if they tell, nobody would know as it would be completely anonymous. They'd be safe from that point on, as they would have someone supervising them discreetly

there are a lot of people to blame for her death first off the campus security. The reason for that is if they would had helped her and arrested the guy instead of blaming her. Another person to blame is the sorority's. That is because they allow them to do that to the women.

Schools can change the rules and have security at party's and on the streets. Also if they gave more attention to a person when they get raped it could help them from committing something bad. Colleges could have more programs to help out the women.

I think that the school is mostly to blame. The Dean and the head of security knew about these rapes and were just trying to hide these reports. The head of security would always just tell the girls that what happened to them is like a football game, where you could look back on them and see your mistakes. The Dean also avoided the accusations by saying she does not want to ruin other students reputation. Also colleges and universities can avoid rapes more if they are more strict on the students and to also limit fraternities and what they do. Also don't allow a lot of movement at midnight or after.

1.The Nipple girls and the Tau Omega clubs are responsible for the death of Lindsay. The girls sent her to a party while intoxicated where the boys are known for these type of accusations. They asked her for provocative pictures essentially led to meeting the guys. The guys directly influenced her death. The school campus security, and the councilors who didn't listen, also reflected the outcome of Lindsay's choice.
    2. They can start to provide safety for the girls, and boys who are in danger of rape. They can listen to those who are accusing, and follow through with investigating the accused. They, the university, will need to stop ignoring accusations and reporting to more than just the school advisors.

The college and the frat boys are essentially to blame for Lindsay's death. The school is to blame because they allowed the boys to do reckless things like that frequently, without ever holding them accountable. The school also continuously swept Tau Omega's bad activity under the rug, like nothing happened. It's Tau omegas fault because they're the ones who raped her and caused her to be depressed and saddened, which led to her jumping off the roof.
Colleges can change it by not favoring certain people or fraternities, as long as they're fair and just to everybody it could change everything. They also can change it by taking every incident seriously.

1.) Travis, her rapists that was a brother of the frat house Tau Omega, along with the sorority the Nipple girls, are the ones to ultimately blame for her death. It was partly the sorority's fault because Lindsay wanted to be a sister so she did whatever it was necessary to be one. It was obviously Travis's fault because he was the one to plan and to start the rape. He was also accompanied by two other boys.

2.)Colleges and universities need to be more aware of all sororities and frat houses. They need to fully be involved in all emails and crimes done on their campus. Being very fair to everyone not favoring a group over another.

I think that colleges should set up programs for young victims to rape who are afraid to speak up. In her time of need they made her feel as if it was her fault. Even after countless girls reported Tau Omega the school still has done nothing. On top of that, they practically just cover up the event and blame the victims.

In order to help cases of assault in general, colleges could start awareness programs. They could make flyers for the campus. They could even just go have discussions every so often just to see. In the very least the counselor could just go out and talk to people about how they are, just to see if everything has been ok lately.

The perpetrators of the rape where the ones who committed the rape and they are also to be blamed.

    2. Colleges should make every case public. Justice should be brought to both the victims and the assaulters. I do understand that colleges care about their reputation. I don't think Lindsay should have killed her self but when things like that happen people just stop thinking and she wanted people to stop talking about her. she was mad and she didn't like that people called her names and talked about her. she was raped at the college and nobody and she was scared to tell college need to stop rape. rico eubanks

I believe all of the stress and trauma of the situation led to her death. The entire school and students attacking her calling her a liar. Not to mention slut shamming. Everyone was pushing to hard.
Colleges could set up safe places. Maybe even have classes just to teach people boundaries. Also by taking all cases seriously and reporting everything.

  109. The college and Travis and his friends are to blame for Lindsay's death because they were the ones who raped her and the college didn't believe her. If Travis and his friends didn't do what they did, Lindsay would still be alive.

They should take more legal action on rape cases. If someone is claiming to be raped, the college should take that allegation serious and take legal action.

  111. I think that is the principals fault. All of it could've been prevented if she would've stopped it the first time it happened. They should really take rape seriously. Campus security should report it straight to the police.

    1) I think that the leader of the sorority and the people involved in the group(known as the nipple girls)is the blame for Lindsay's death. Because the sorority stayed silent and did not do anything about the rape. Also the people that were involved in the group caused the rape to happen because they send Lindsay to the room and so the boys raped her. After Lindsay got raped, so much things happened to her and made herself to commit suicide. Because of these people, I think that this leaded the suicide.

    2) Collages or universities could change the culture of under responding by talking to the students and make the students be open. Win the students trust will also help a lot. If this situation happens, teachers should take this serious and do something about it. Justice will have to come through if they all speak out.

    1. I think Travis and his two friends are the ones responsible for Lindsey's death they were the ones who raped her. When they raped her, it changed her. Nobody believed her , nothing helped her story. People said that she wanted it that it wasn't rape. She ended up getting depressed and ended it all.
2.Colleges/universities should make sure that their students are comfortable enough to come forward. There should be better security. They need to take action even if they denied what they were accused of. Lastly sororities shouldn't be able to do what they do just for someone to get in.

    ReplyDelete
  114. I think that the blame would be the sorority leader because she was the one who dared her to do what she did. And in the result in that Lindsay got raped by three guys. And also I think that colleges should take stuff to the court because if they don't it only makes things a lot worse. So they should not try to keep things a secret they should just take those things to the court.

    1. I think that Travis and his friends should be blamed for Lindsey's DEATH. Travis and his friends were the ones that raped her. Once she got raped nobody believed her. she was not the only one that got raped by the same person. Lindsey felt bad and it caused her to death.

    2. Colleges/Universities should take action to what is happening. They should have better security and people that actually care.the girls not by making them feel that it was there fault.

    1. The blame will go to a lot of people , but at the first place blaming the Travis boys for Lindsay's death .They are the main reason for her death because if they did not rape her she would not go through all that . All the fault go back to them . second the the blame goes to the security campus and her college staff because they did not help or believe her . next i will blame her self for a second because she decided to act like nothing happened and stayed quite .
    2. colleges should listen more to the victim and try harder to see the case from the victim's side of point of view . They should also create programs to make the students aware of what sexual assaulting means .

    1. Travis, his friends, and the school should all be blamed for Lindsey's suicide. The guys raped her without caring about what will happen to her next after she sobers up. The school took the big problem of rape and looked at it like is was no big deal. They didn't believe her and thought she was lying.
    2. Colleges should already be taking this seriously, but since some aren't, they can add a place where students can place a anonymous report about something big like rape. It will make the students feel less pressure than actually saying it so someone in person.

    1. The blame will go to a lot of people. The boys who raped her, the security campus, and the teachers. Because they did not believe the Lindsay when she went to them and tried to get help from them and they believed the boys and make them graduate with honors even though they are the wrong once and all the blame go to them.
    2. I think how to change collages or any school is just don't listen to one side of the problem, listen to all side then decided to believe the side u want. And if a boy or a girl ask for help the school or the teachers have to help them even if they do not believe them.

    1. Travis, Travis crew, and the sorority is to blame for Lindsay death. The sorority sent her to a trap by making her take a picture of Travis package then being raped. This overwhelmed her an made her to come to a decision an commit suicide.

    2. The college covered up their track by hinding the reports an just ignored them an said they can't control what happens in the bedroom

Sorry if you see this twice I don't think the comment finished publishing in class

I think Lindsay's death is on Travis and the Nipple Girls . Travis because he shouldn't have raped her and then tried to lie about it . I feel if the leader of the Nipple Girls wouldn't have made Lindsay get a picture of Travis' "package" then it wouldn't have leaded where it did . Alison shouldn't have put her up to it anyway knowing what they were capable of and knowing that she had been raped by the same fraternity . I also feel that Lindsay could have went another way about the situation than killing herself .

I would say that the death of Lindsay is somewhat exaggerated because not only were the boys who did damage, but her friends for making her go to that party. neither let her help, what he did was lie and pretend her mother that everything was fine and that there was no harm done.

This is something that nowadays even in schools can be seen with minors, but do not give much importance because it is in the past and do something to prevent it... It is a lie to stop making those parties students from universities or schools, but if you think they could prevent this kind of thing with political support.

  122. I believe it's the boys fault. They have been raping girls for awhile now that their home even had the name "rape factory". Lindsay tried to leave after she got her picture but the boy forced her to stay and then aggressively got on top.

Colleges can prevent or change this culture by not allowing these types of parties on campus. They could have staff or security walking around making sure everything is alright. Another thing is to not allow drugs on campus that would change a lot of problems that go on these days.

  123. I believe that both sororities and fraternities and blamed for the death of Lindsay. because 1) the girls encouraged her to get a picture for her to becaome one of them. which led to travis and other frat boys to rape her

In my opinion,The Nipple girls and the Tau Omega clubs are responsible for the death of Lindsay. The girls sent her to a party while intoxicated where the boys are known for these types of accusations. They asked her for provocative pictures essentially led to meeting the guys. The guys directly influenced her death. The school campus security, and the councilors who didn't listen, also reflected the outcome of Lindsay's choice. They can start to provide safety for the girls, and boys who are in danger of rape. They can listen to those who are accusing, and follow through with investigating the accused. They, the university, will need to stop ignoring accusations and reporting to more than just the school advisors.

    1. I believe there are multiple people to blame. The frat boy for one. They are the ones who actually committed the crime. The sorority girls for daring her to get a provocative picture from one of the boys, and the councilor for avoiding the case and trying to hide evidence to protect the college's rep.

    2. Colleges should, of course, report every crime, not just rape, to the authorities. Colleges should also worry more about their students rather than their reputation. And besides I think that if they pay more attention to their students then that would give them a better reputation anyways.

    1. I believe that the people that are responsible for Lindsay's death is the school and Tau Omega. No one paid attention to her and she became depressed all of the sudden. No one helped her through it and suddenly caused her to take her own life.
    2. I think that they shouldn't just throw the case under a rug and forget about it. They should pay more attention to whats happening around school grounds and shouldn't act like the victim when someone actually finds out about the case.

  127. 1). The one's responsible for Lindsay's death are the school, the NIP girls, and Tau Omega. After her gang rape, no one believed her and she began to shut herself out from the people that do care. She started to listen to the rumors, in the end it got to her. More then the school was involved yet they all they did was try to cover it. Good thing in the end they were all punished for their crimes.

2). Rapes will never disappear in the world. The only thing colleges/universities and in the world is just report it. Some ways to avoid it is separating the sex's to where its just males and females and avoiding these situations. Also locking well the dorms! Rapes will never go away it started many years ago the only thing we can do is try to avoid them and report them immediately. And finally, colleges need to start noticing when students are having problems by their expressions and better counselors to guide them an advice them better if they already don't.

I think that the principal responsible of Lindsay death are the college because the school is responsible for all the student that leave in the campus and they have to find the way to protect the girls, Lindsay fraternity have responsible to because they send her to that party, and obviously the Tau Omega because they make the crime.

They have to say to the student that the fraternity are stupid and they are not going to be cool just for join a fraternity and they have to make safeties clubs.

The boys, counselor and the campus security are to blame for Lindsay's death. the boys raped her and the counselor told her to look the other way, to put it behind you. Colleges can change the culture of under reporting by trying to hold secret meeting where girls can come forward about the issue.

    1. I believe that really, multiple people are responsible for Lindsay's death. The frat brothers that raped her, the sorority sisters that pressured her, everyone who didn't believe/slut shamed her, and the dean for not making a change.

    2. A way colleges could change the culture of under reporting rape is by actually reporting it. It makes no sense for them not to. The students look to the school for guidance and justice and just get ignored. They need to take more action towards these type of situations.

1- I think that the main person to blame is herself. Because if she would've never wanted to become a nipple girl, she would have never got into that situation in the first place. On the second hand its also the sorority's fault for making her do that dare. They could have just put something not so perverted.
2- Colleges can change it by making everybody aware of rape. They should have all the students aware that if they see rape, hear it going on or if someone tells them they were rapped they should report it. Colleges should also do something about rape cases instead like in Lindsay's and Renee's case hiding it.

Lindsay's death didn't happen just because she was raped. Her death had a lot to do with her not having a support group she could turn to after what happened to her. Her school and the student having to push her away and thinking she was lying also didn't help instead it push her to committee suicide.

Many colleges cover up what happens on their campus for there own use. Sometimes rape is one of the things that gets covered up. TO change this colleges should have a secret support groups that works with the police, so girls would feel comfortable telling their stories.

lindsay's death didn't only happened because of the rape . the rape is just what made it worse. the good was not where she needed to be in the first place. the school is mostly to blame because there are a lot of messed up people who cover things up.

colleges can change the situation by being more aware . also not covering things up . if something happens then they should say something . covering it up will only make it worse . they also need more support groups so that the girls can feel more comfortable.

The 3 people gained her up. That was not nice to grab her legs and her arms. Also to push her in bed.

    1. The fault goes to the sorority girl who dared her to take the picture, and the Dean because she rubbed the cases off and didn't help Lindsay when she needed it.
    2. They can do so by having surveillance in more places and watching frats more closely. And they should see into the cases more

  138. by;raushaun Edmondson should take things to court more often. They don't have to speak about the victims specifically or say there name. They just have to let it known and get people to notice it and take act. If more people know about it the more risks and threats can be eliminated. They should also bring media in, so people can at least know about it.

1.The Dean and Travis because The Dean didn't care about the shirts that Travis was wearing which had rape on them also Travis was the cause of her death because he was the person who raped her which ended up in making her depressed also her sorority should be blamed too because they were the people who dared her to take pictures of Travis in the beginning.

    2. In order to change they need to be more aware and pay more attention to the rapes going on in the world also they can change the culture by being more involved in rape type of activities because it will help the culture and make people not do such things to others also the people in the campus should try to get involved in these types of situations as soon as possible so it can be fixed.
